Team Updates & Announcements

Update No. 1

Lash Client Consent Forms — New System

Lash consent forms are now being sent directly to clients and are also available through the salon website.

  • Completed consent forms automatically populate into a Google Sheets spreadsheet.
  • Everyone currently using my GlossGenius account has been emailed access to the spreadsheet.
  • The form is also available through Team Resources on the salon website.
  • Please make sure you know how to access the spreadsheet and verify that your clients have completed their form.
Update No. 2

Playroom Consent Form

All children using the Glam Lab playroom are now required to have a guardian complete the Playroom Consent Form the first time the child uses the playroom.

  • The form is available on the salon website.
  • Please direct parents/guardians to complete it before their child begins using the playroom.
Update No. 3

Website + QR Code Reminder

If you are currently using QR codes on business cards, flyers, signage, stickers, or other marketing materials, I highly recommend linking the QR code to your business website instead of directly to your booking system.

QR Code Your Website Book Now

Your website link is much less likely to change. Booking systems, booking pages, and direct booking URLs can change as your business grows.

Your website should be the main home for:

  • Booking
  • Services
  • Pricing
  • Portfolio
  • Policies
  • Promotions
  • Contact information
  • Social media
  • Client education
Update No. 4

Free Website Offer — Through September 2026

For team members who do not currently have a website, I am offering a free website build through September 2026. This is an opportunity to create a professional online home for your business without relying solely on Instagram or your booking platform.

Offer is valid through September 30, 2026. If you want to take advantage of this, please communicate that with me before the deadline.

Team Resources + Glam Lab App

Chore Updates

4

Only 4 people have consistently updated their chores during the month of August through the app.

Please remember that the app is not optional just because we also communicate through text or in person. It is there so salon responsibilities and communication can stay organized.

Moving forward:

  • Put the Glam Lab app directly on your phone so it is easy to access.
  • Update your chores when they are completed.
  • Check the app regularly for salon information and updates.

I have also fixed the bug that was preventing you from sending me updates/messages through the Glam Lab app, so that feature should now be working properly.

Marketing

Google Business Profile

A lot of you have recently switched booking systems, so please make sure your Google Business Profile is updated too. If someone searches your business on Google and your booking link is outdated, you could be losing potential clients.

Make sure you:

  • Update your Google Business Profile with your correct booking link.
  • Confirm your phone number, hours, website, and other information are accurate.
  • Remove old booking links.
  • If you are not fully booked, add your upcoming openings to your Google Business Profile every Sunday and on the first of each month.

Your Google Business Profile should be treated like another active marketing platform — not something you set up once and forget about.

Steps to Edit Your Google Business Profile

  1. Open the Google Maps app on your phone.
  2. Make sure you are signed into the correct Google account associated with your business.
  3. Tap Business at the bottom right of the screen.
  4. Tap Edit profile.
  5. Choose the section you want to update — hours, business name, phone number, website, or booking link.
  6. Tap Save or Submit when finished.
Standards

Professionalism

I want everyone to start being more intentional about how you show up for your clients and how your business is perceived. Small things communicate a lot.

Do Not Arrive After Your Client

You should not be walking into the salon after your client has already arrived. It looks unprofessional and creates an immediate impression that you were not prepared for their appointment.

Your client should walk into a space where:

  • You are already there.
  • Your station is prepared.
  • Your tools and products are ready.
  • You are prepared to greet them.
  • You look ready to provide the service they are paying for.

Your client should never feel like they beat you to work.

Your Services Need to Be Booked in Your App

Services need to be properly entered into your booking system. This is important for multiple reasons:

  1. Your services and appointments need to be properly documented.
  2. It keeps your schedule accurate.
  3. It prevents booking conflicts.
  4. It allows you to track your business.
  5. When someone looks at your calendar and nothing is entered, it can appear as though your business is disorganized.

Even if someone contacted you directly, paid another way, is a model, or is receiving a promotional service, the appointment should still be placed on your calendar.

Show Up With Intention

I want everyone to start asking themselves: How do I want people to address and perceive my business?

If you want clients to treat your business seriously, you also have to show them that you treat your business seriously. That means being intentional about:

  • Your appearance
  • Your punctuality
  • Your setup
  • Your communication
  • Your booking system
  • Your client experience
  • Your cleanliness
  • Your marketing
  • Your follow-through

You do not have to look identical every day or spend a lot of money. The goal is simply to look like you put intention into the experience you are providing.

Get Organized

Business Notes — Keep Your Business Information Organized

I highly recommend that everyone creates a Business Notes note directly in their phone. You should not have to search through old texts, screenshots, emails, and group messages every time you need something for your business. Create one note that contains the information you use frequently.

Examples of what to save:

  • Team Resources link
  • Glam Lab app information
  • Wi-Fi password
  • Your website link
  • Booking link
  • Google Business Profile link
  • Social media links
  • Common client forms
  • Salon resources
  • Business passwords or login reminders
  • Frequently used policies
  • Promotions you are currently running
  • Links you regularly send to clients

Keep your important business information easy to access and organized.

And again: put the Glam Lab app directly on your phone. You need to be able to easily access it, check updates, communicate, and consistently update your chores.
